More than 200 people joined the Regional Labor Federation on Labor Day 2013, marching together in the daily parade through the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
This year more than ever, our marching unit reflected the diversity of our 100-plus affiliate unions. Union musicians, riding on a patriotic float, led the Twin Cities Labor Chorus in song. Local 110 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers pulled a stock-car bearing its logo. Teachers, nurses, postal workers, school employees and others marched behind their unions’ banners, while retirees and young children waved to fairgoers from an open-air bus.
