March with labor in the Winter Carnival parade

web.wintercarnival-bizThe Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation’s AFL-CIO Community Services program and Greater Twin Cities United Way will co-sponsor a marching unit in the King Boreas Grande Day Parade on Jan. 27, part of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival festivities.

Union members, their families and friends are encouraged to participate in this fun community event. Marchers should plan to wear their local union jackets or uniforms, and to carry their local union banners.

Marchers also will carry signs that proudly proclaim: “Unions and United Way, Partners Serving our Community.”

After the parade the RLF will host a warm-up party at the new St. Paul Labor Center, featuring good food and fun for the whole family. The warm-up party is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota.

Marchers will gather at the Labor Center, located at 353 West 7th Street, in the Main Hall at 1 p.m., and they will leave together to line up for the parade, which begins at 2 p.m.

If you would like to participate, call Vicki Beebe at 651-222-3787 ext. 120, or email vbeebe@stpaulunions.org.
